Northwest Stud stole the spotlight at today's under tack session for the Ocala Breeders' Sales Co.'s Spring Sale of 2-year-olds in training. HIP #798, a bay colt by Harlan's Holiday out of the Mr. Greeley mare Triumphantly, stopped the watches in 20 3/5 seconds, best work at a quarter of a mile for the session by two-fifths of a second. Harlan's Holiday is the sire of three champions, including Breeders' Cup Juvenile winner Shanghai Bobby. Unraced Triumphantly is a half-sister to SP Touch of Splendor. There were three works tied for second at 21 seconds flat, including HIP #741, Northwest's dark bay or brown colt by Bernardini out of the Stormin Fever mare Tarlow, winner of the Gr. I Santa Margarita Invitational and Gr. II La Canada Stakes, both at Santa Anita. Northwest has 14 colts and fillies catalogued for the sale, which runs from April 21st to 24th.

"He prepped in :10 and change on the dirt at home before we shipped over here," said Northwest Stud's Alfredo Lichoa, "so we knew he was fast. He really took to the synthetic. He just loved it. He's a very honest horse and all heart."
