Northwest Stud hit the jackpot at the OBS March auction today, selling the co-highest-priced horse in the one-day sale. Barbara Banke's Stonestreet Stables went to $1.6 million to corral HIP #343, a colt by European Horse of the Year Giant's Causeway out of the Unbridled's Song mare Rebridled Dreams. The colt is a half-brother to four winners, including J. B.'s Thunder, winner of the Gr. I Dixiana Breeders' Futurity at Keeneland, and Doncaster Rover, a multiple stakes-winner in England and five times Group stakes-placed. He worked in 10 1/5 seconds at the under tack show. The purchase helped OBS post a record-breaking gross of $37,817,500 and average of $190,997.
