On Jan. 17, Natalie La Rose broke her maiden by 7 3/4 lengths in her career debut at Tampa Bay Downs for owners/breeders Kathleen Amaya and Alexandro and Raffaele Centofanti. Following that race, the 3-year-old Gone Astray filly was purchased by Frank Carl Calabrese, year after year one of the leading owners in North America. Moving to the barn of trainer Michael Petro, Natalie La Rose made her second start at Gulfstream Park yesterday and was just as impressive as in her first try, going wire-to-wire under Emisael Jaramillo and getting six furlongs in a solid 1:10.60 after posting fractions of :22.84 and :45.99. The unbeaten filly has earned $25,440 in her two starts.
