Gone Astray's recent spate of winners continued at Indiana Grand Race Course yesterday when Rolando Aragon piloted 6/5 favorite Seymour Kid to his first career victory in a $33,000 maiden special at 5 1/2 furlongs. The 3-year-old Indiana-bred gelding was between horses on the front end early as the leading trio cut out a :22.24 quarter, but Aragorn got him rolling on the turn and Seymour Kid took the lead after three-eighths. He passed the half in :45.67, and continued on to a 2 1/4-length victory in 1:05.10. The gelding's first start since October added $19,800 to his bank account and raised his total to $44,651 on a record of 1-3-1 in six starts. Gone Astray now has 24 winners in 2017.
