After posting two victories and two seconds in his first five starts in South Florida, Gone Jak was sent off at odds of 30 cents to a dollar Thursday in his latest try at Gulfstream Park at six furlongs. The 3-year-old colt by Gone Astray didn't disappoint, chasing the pace in second place until the turn, then sweeping by the leader in the stretch and finishing strongly to prevail by 3 1/4 lengths. The $12,000 OBS August yearling was clocked in a solid 1:10.38 and added $11,000 to his bank account. Gone Jak has a pair of victories and two seconds to show for his four starts in 2017.
