Gone Astray has surpassed the $3 million mark in career progeny earnings thanks to a tremendous performance by Starship Mischief at Delta Downs on Thursday evening. The 4-year-old filly bred by former NFL defensive back Freddie Hyatt took the lead at the start of the five-furlong race and widened the margin at every call, reaching the wire 9 1/4 lengths in front with rider Eddie Martin Jr. never raising the whip. Starship Mischief had started just once before, finishing third at Gulfstream Park on Oct. 1, and changing ownership since that race. Gone Astray's fourth winner in the first 12 days of 2017 raised his career earnings total to $3,002,255.
