There was plenty of drama surrounding Gone Astray's runners this week, and when the smoke had cleared, the son of Dixie Union gained three more winners, including No. 39 for this season. At Camarero Race Track in Puerto Rico, after Noble Quest's devastating 10 1/4-length score in his 4 1/2-furlong debut, only two trainers were brave enough to have their runners face him in his second start and the 2-year-old colt made it 2-for-2 with a wire-to-wire victory at 6 1/2 furlongs. Noble Quest, bred by auto racing moguls W. K. and D. S. France, won by two lengths and paid the tote board minimum, $2.10 . . . At Charles Town, Ormond Moon was moved up from second to first after the original winner wiped her out along with several others passing the half-mile pole. The 3-year-old filly picked up her first victory after she had finished second, third or fourth in her last eight starts . . . At Finger Lakes, El Chakal rallied from ninth place, made a sweeping, six-wide move on the turn and caught the 5/2 favorite at the wire to finish in a dead-heat for the win. It was three lengths back to the third-place finisher. The victory was El Chakal's third of 2016.
