After finishing second in his 2016 debut, Flash Glory scored a sharp victory in a $32,000 allowance optional claimer at Penn National Friday evening and added $18,240 to his already impressive bank account. The 5-year-old gelding raised his record to 8-3-2 in 20 starts while the winner's check jumped his earnings to $138,449, best for any son or daughter of Flashstorm. Dana Whitney was aboard the gelding,who stalked the pace from the outside early in the race, made a four-wide move on the turn and slowly drew off in the stretch to prevail by nearly two lengths. He was clocked in 1:05.19 for the 5 1/2 furlongs.
