Gone Astray celebrated his first winner on May 21 when It's High Time destroyed the field in a $48,000 maiden special at Gulfstream Park. Owned by her breeder, Tracy Pinchin, It's High Time took the lead at the outset in the 4 1/2-furlong race, then spinted away from the pack on the turn and was in front by 7 1/4 lengths at the wire and widening the gap with every stride. She was clocked in 52.99 and earned a check for $31,500, making Gone Astray the early leader in Florida's freshman sire race.
