Jay's Way, the stakes-placed son of Gone Astray who sold to Midwest Thoroughbreds for $50,000 at the OBS March 2-year-old sale in 2015, has sent his sire over the $500,000 mark in progeny earnings for the year. The 4-year-old colt scored a strong, wire-to-wire victory as the 9/5 second choice at Aqueduct Sunday in a one-mile allowance optional claimer with a purse of $69,000. Irad Ortiz rushed Jay's Way to the lead at the break and they passed the furlong markers in :23.38, :46.18 and 1:09.77 en route to a nearly two-length score in 1:35.46. The $41,400 winner's share raised the colt's total to $176,896 on a record of 4-4-2 in 15 starts, while Gone Astray's total for the season soared to $533,210.
