Gone Astray enjoyed a productive mid-week, adding two more winners and a stakes-placed filly to his ledger, while vaulting over the $100,000 mark in earnings for January. Jay's Way boosted his record to 3-3-1 in 12 starts with a game victory at Parx Racing under Kendrick Carmouche. The 4-year-old colt battled on the front end over a sloppy track throughout the seven furlongs, then reached the wire one length in front, timed in 1:24.24. Owned by Midwest Thoroughbreds, Jay's Way had finished second at Aqueduct in his previous start; he earned $25,200 for his score and increased his career total to $118,196 . . . Testaruda broke her maiden at a mile and one-sixteenth on the grass at Tampa Bay Downs, coming from dead last in the 10-filly field and mowing down the leaders with a monster three-wide move on the final turn. The 3-year-old filly, owned by Frank C. Calabrese, earned $8,150 for the victory . . . Heart Astray finished third in the $50,000 OBS Sprint Championship for fillies, one of seven betting races on the OBS Week of Champions program. Heart Astray came from behind at odds of 87-1 in just her third career start and paid $34.20 to show, collecting $4,800 . . . Gone Astray now has seven winners this month and progeny earnings of $122,791.
